Help card guidance

Practical ways to handle names one partner loves and the other declines.

4 min read|Updated March 2026

3-step conflict reset

  1. Describe the appeal in one sentence each.
  2. Identify one non-negotiable and one flexible preference per partner.
  3. Generate 5 bridge names and vote again the next day.

Know when to move forward

A disagreement is ready for the next step when both partners can explain the other person's preference, even if they still prefer different names. You do not need to force a final decision in the same session.

If the conversation stalls

  • Park the name instead of repeatedly voting while frustrated.
  • Return to each person's non-negotiable and flexible preference.
  • Try bridge names before reopening the entire discovery feed.
  • Use the Partner Features guide if shared state or roles look incorrect.
